Exercise Counseling

We all know exercise is good for us. Some of the benefits of regular physical activity include:

  • improved cardiovascular health – i.e. lower risk for heart disease
  • lower blood pressure
  • reduced cancer risk
  • reduced diabetes risk
  • healthy weight management
  • optimal bone density
  • prevention of sarcopenia (age related muscle loss)
  • improved emotional state

Staying active is an important piece of the wellness puzzle. By staying active and physically fit, we are able to improve our quality of life, especially as we age. Avoiding osteoporosis or sarcopenia may help determine how independent an elderly person can be, and it also helps reduce the risk of falls.

Not all exercise is created equal. There are many different theories about exercise and many different ways to exercise. Not every exercise is suitable for everyone.  We will work with you to develop an exercise plan that fits your individual needs. We will work together to develop a plan that fits into your time schedule, access to equipment and to your personal fitness goals.
